I once saw New Pornographers perform in Brisbane. It was pretty shit. But their not the only act on the bill...Midlake's The Trials of Van Occupanter took a little while (till after their Brisbane gig, to be precise) but it now totally pushes my buttons so I was glad to see they had a show announced during our NYC stint (July 4th). And a FREE one at that! But there's a catch....
Due to organisers forseeing demand exceeding capacity at this Battery Park gig, tickets will be distributed at selected Starbucks in New York City. My initial reaction was 'aww fuck :('. It didn't seem likely that they'd be facilitating online international e-tickets.
It turns out the tickets will be distributed after we get there (June 26th) so as long as we are diligent (and lucky) we'll be spending the first part of our Independence Day evening relaxing to Midlake (and maybe A.C. Newman & friends).
